Political Speakers started with Rachel Notley Alberta NDP MLA from Edmonton Strathcona, Hugh MacDonald Liberal MLA from Edmonton Gold bar, Dennis O’Neill an Alberta Party candidate from Edmonton Gold bar. Gil McGowan could not attend due to illness but his assistant Terry Inigo-Jones made a presentation in his place. Mike Hrushka an engineer who had accident/injury statistics detailed how Alberta Industry is second only to China in the number of Injured Workers and Workers Deaths on the job. Amazing numbers considering we have 3 million plus residents. Mr. Hrushka left the data and statistics that we will post soon. Dr Sussman spoke of the mistreatment and hardships WCB’s system of culture & denial bestows leaving the injured in despair.
Wednesday was the best-attended day of the Rally with 56 people showing up during the day including members from Barrhead, Calgary, Drayton Valley, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake.
Randall read a heart-wrenching story from Christina Rokoss about her son’s father Acea who was injured in White court, Alberta and is in the final stages of RSD. Christina donated allowing Canadian Injured Workers to do some pre Rally advertising. Thank you Christina as we all appreciate your generosity when you are supporting Acea, your family and pay your medical costs on your own. I long for the day we can give back to you.
